Respawn is looking for a veteran social media Senior Manager to lead – reinvigorating the vision and global social strategy for Apex Legends with a focus on building an even stronger player community every day. With a community led approach and fluent understanding of modern social trends, you will report to the Director of Global Communications, and working with leadership of the Apex team, you will help define the game’s approach to social going forward.
Accountabilities:
You will define social media strategy for global accounts in the ever-evolving social media landscape.
You will be a strategic guide and consultant for regional social teams, ensuring their approach aligns to our global strategy.
You will provide vision for overall channel strategy and engagement plans.
You will oversee team management of multiple social channels, social voice and content calendar.
You will use reporting for informed decision-making for social media content and social channel strategy for long-term growth.
You will manage two managers on the Social Media team in their execution, but also focus on their personal development.
Required skills:
You will be the global driver of the social strategies across internal processes and external channels, partnering with Action Adventure and company-wide stakeholders to drive alignment to the plan. End results should include:
Channel strategy and prioritization
Social voice
Social content creation (including EA Creator Network planning)
Social measurements
You understand the strengths of important social platforms, those focusing on short-form content i.e. (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts) and follow trends to better connect with the player community through relevant engagement and apply the knowledge to better connect with our communities.
You will manage social media team-related budgets, agencies, and more.
You will connect with colleagues across Development and Marketing to ensure community insights are accounted for overall plans.
You will be a collaborator in integrated comms structure to ensure constant alignment and cross-channel engagement with PR, Creator, and Community teams.
You will have close collaboration and work with creative teams on content needs and creation around tentpole events.
You will work with leads to ensure the daily social media content calendars are in good standing.
You will understand the latest trends to find new and better ways of measuring social media activity, using this research to inform content and social strategy.
You will analyze competitor activity using social listening tools, taking this analysis into consideration to inform social strategy and content.
You have a community mindset to ensure content strategies can align to corporate needs and community expectations.
You will report social engagement insights as part of Brand planning, learning and post-mortems.
You will monitor & report on social media platform performance using third-party toolsets, including:
Sprout Social
Affogata
Synthesio
Level Up
You will work with franchise partners to provide a high-quality experience for fans when they aren’t playing our Action-Adventure portfolio.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
8+ years of experience in Social Media Management.
High-quality writing skills w/ with global audiences in mind.
Experienced in conflict management.
Experienced working in challenging environments and situations, including direct interactions within the player community.
Proficient / Advanced / Expert at using social media analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, in-platform tools, and third-party products using Boolean search).
Build data-informed insights on community behavior that can be shared with other teams and data points to create relevant recommendations for action.
Knowledge of AAA PC/console games, like Action Adventure and RPG games.
