I joined EA because I totally enjoyed my internship experience. I learned a ton, and the environment was so supportive, I knew that this was great a place for me to grow. I was particularly impressed with classes that were offered at work, from basic shader writing to figure drawing. The benefits are pretty awesome, too - and EA Tiburon was recently recognized as a top company for working families. Plus, who wouldn't want to work on video games in sunny Florida for a living?
Gaming is a great field because it is as dynamic as the rapidly-changing technology we develop for. There are always new and interesting problems to solve. I've always got my thinking cap on, that's for sure!
Technical art, of course! My main responsibilities include getting art assets for Tiger Woods PGA Tour into the game and writing tools to help speed up our pipeline. I multitask and fire-fight on a daily basis to make sure that all of this happens as smoothly as possible!
I really love the people I work with. They are encouraging, helpful, resourceful, patient, and a ton of fun to be around. We laugh all the time! Plus, my job is sort of a "half-artist, half-programmer" hybrid. It's a great way for me to use both of these skill sets. I also love that I can bring in homemade baked goodies to work and boost morale instantly...that's always fun!
I love the vibrant atmosphere here! I see the "work hard, play hard" philosophy we have going on here in action every day. Everyone enjoys having fun and joking around. But people here are also super motivated and incredibly talented. I work with some of the best in the industry - and it is truly exciting to be able to learn from these people! My work is challenging and fast-paced, but fun....and most definitely rewarding when I finish something big!
I am a Fightin' Texas Aggie from Texas A&M University, in the thriving metropolis of College Station, Texas! I received a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.S. in Visualization Sciences. (Proudest member of the classes of '04 and '08!)
I really enjoy working with and learning from others as well as putting my skills to good use! I believe that, combined with previous leadership experience and a positive attitude will help me become an effective leader, such as a CG Supervisor, in the future! In the meantime, I sure do have a lot more to learn...
I have really gotten into Beatles Rock Band lately (the graphics are super cool). I am also a fan of Boomblox and Rayman Raving Rabbids! And I still enjoy the old school stuff, too. Dr. Mario or Duck Hunt, anyone? I also enjoy board games, and a great little domino game I used to play all the time at Texas A&M called "42" (whoop!).
