To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to integrate complex animations into the game engine to industry standards. You will work closely with the Animators, Artists, and Software Engineers to seamlessly integrate these animations into game.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and collaborate new concepts to functional prototypes alongside the guidance of Production, Animation, Cinematics and Software Engineer teams
  • Help us implement scalable industry workflows and enforce best practices for developing a non-linear, dynamic, and immersive and seamless realtime experience for our users.
  • Work side-by-side with engineers to develop new games content solutions, tools and pipelines for animators and designers in the animation space.
  • Work with Technical Artist’s/Animator’s and Engineers to manage and solve any technical problems that arise with both 1st and 3rd party tools and software

 

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-7 years work experience in Cinematics or equivalent
  • Experienced realtime animation/cinematic production required
  • Experienced Technical Cinematic Designer, with a broad range of implementation workflows from tradition non-interactive to seamless semi-interactive cinematics
  • Experience with problem-solving, good at manipulating content and providing innovative solutions.
  • Experience with complex visual schematics and design work
  • Experience working and developing with advanced animation rigs
  • Deep understanding of cinematic production. Motion Capture, scene assembly, export/import cinematic pipelines, implementation into engine and iteration workflows
  • Experience working with, and providing feedback to both artists and technical artists/animators
  • Proficient in standard industry tools such as Autodesk Maya/Motionbuilder
  • Highly self-motivated and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Experience with managing cinematics pipelines and workflows
  • Experience with leading teams and reviewing content
  • Open to hybrid work at our EA Vancouver office

  • A passion for Sports/Soccer is an asset
  • Motivated to learn how to use new or proprietary software
  • Be adaptable to different workflow methods
  • Able to communicate well with other disciplines
  • Candidate must be meticulous, detail oriented, driven, and need very little supervision to put out high quality work
  • Candidate must have a strong work ethic and work well with a team
  • Be positive and approachable

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $73,200 - $101,700 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
