The Player & Quality Insights team focuses on understanding player behavior and designing 
 player feedback events which help game teams develop high-quality games to meet our player's expectations. We are a data-driven team where every major decision starts with data analysis to find opportunity areas and to measure our efforts. As a Data Analyst, you will oversee and conduct the conversion of data into insights to lead to informed decisions. Reporting to the Director, Analytics, you will develop new methods to understand our players and directly influence the quality of our games.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with partners to understand project goals and provide clear guidance regarding 
     player behavior and player feedback event design.
  • Evaluate and interpret data to find risks and opportunities and communicate them with your team and partners.
  • Build statistical models and validate and improve the performance of these models over time.
  • Develop scripts and queries to import, clean, transform, and enhance data.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations that help your team identify areas of 
     opportunity and provide insight to guide future playtest events
  • Promote best practices in tools and visual technologies for building project dashboards that provide important data for project monitoring.
     

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of work experience in a past analytical role, using data to guide process 
     improvements.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or completion of post-secondary level Math and Statistics courses.
  • Excellent foundation of math and statistical knowledge including an understanding of probability, correlation, regression, classification, and the development of statistical models.
  • Proficient in SQL and ability to extract data from large data sources with differing 
     structures.
  • Proficient in software tools like Power BI or Tableau to create easy-to-understand data visualizations.
  • Experience with the Agile/Waterfall processes.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $73,200 - $101,700 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
