We are looking for a Development Director to join the Character Physics & AI domain part of the Frostbite Sports and Skate vertical. As a Development Director you will lead diverse teams to provide high-quality, innovative solutions. You will partner with Leaders of Engine Development; Tech Leads and other Development Directors to ensure successful planning and delivery of complex features and technologies. You will report to the domain Senior Manager of Engine Development and as a Development Director, you will combine people and project management skills while leading multiple teams.

Our in-house engine offers the unique ability to adapt to each game while working hand-in-hand to prioritise what to build. Responsibilities:

  • Project management for team: Run stand-ups, retrospectives.

  • Provide regular status reporting on progress.

  • Track progress against team goals and along defined performance metrics.

  • Motivate the team, promote collaboration and bring out the best of everyone.

  • Identify & improve communication and task workflows/processes.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues to ensure our team success.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Guide project planning, scheduling, and execution to meet deliverables.

  • Mentor team members, supporting their growth and career progression.

  • Ensure adherence to Frostbite's development processes and quality standards.


Qualifications:

  • Experience leading technical teams to deliver complex projects on time and within scope.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).

  • You have experience managing Software Engineers.

  • You have experience working on game or game engine development (5+ years).

  • You have experience managing projects in a distributed team environment.

  • Ability of setting clear expectations while managing team member relationships.
