Experience Design Intern (Summer 2025)

We're looking for an Experience Design Intern like you to join us in our mission to create amazing games and experiences, and to improve ourselves and our craft. You will report to an Associate Experience Design Director.

Responsibilities:

  • You will help design the best pathways to guide players through menus and options easily.

  • You will work with all disciplines – code, design, audio, animation, and FX – to create UI/UX.

  • You will learn how to advocate for improving the design of the UI tool set & workflow.

  • You will forward think and find ways to improve the design of the game's UI across the board with support from the UI/UX team

  • You will improve on UI mockups for many different menus and systems for the game, extending the design system established by the UI team.

  • You will embody game development values, such as prioritization and making hard trade-offs and choices.

Qualifications:

  • You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree granting program.

  • You have an interest in UX/UI or Visual Design for games.

  • You have experience with gaming and an understanding of what is the best UX across multiple genres.

  • You understand the connections between UI functionality and UI aesthetics, and how to maximize impact for the benefit of gamers.

  • You have experience with metrics or other feedback methods to evaluate and improve your work post-launch.

Must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2025. We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2025, slated to graduate no earlier than May 2026. You must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis during the 16-week Co-Op. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the hourly pay ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, degree type (e.g. Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD), what stage you are in your degree journey (i.e. freshman, sophomore, etc.), qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs. PAY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $29 - $31 USD
  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane)
    • $25 - $34 CAD

The hourly pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including 80 hours per year of sick time (prorated based on scheduled hours per week if less than full-time), 16 paid company holidays per year, medical insurance, and 401(k). Interns in California are also eligible for Voluntary Disability Insurance.
