WE WANT YOUR BRAINS… PopCap is looking for brainy and skillful people with a passion for making the world’s best games. What’s in it for you? A super-fun environment, rewarding work, and lots of great perks. It takes big, delicious brains to make award-winning titles like Plants vs. Zombies that delight millions of players around the world every day. Are you up for the challenge?

We are looking for an Outsourcing Artist to join us and help continue delivering a long-running and beloved IP to our players, Plants vs. Zombies! This artist will report to the Art Director and work on an upcoming Plants vs. Zombies mobile title. You will rapidly develop concepts to drive the creation of best-in-class visuals, bringing the world of Plants vs. Zombies to life. You have experience in art creation and leadership for mobile games with an eye for industry trends.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with the Art Director and Senior Concept artist to establish visual targets for content handled by outsourcers and communicate these targets.
    • Collaborate with art and design teams to prepare and organize reference material, written creative briefs, miro/mood boards, and any other material they need to produce at quality and scope.
    • Collaborate in building and maintaining our art and asset pipelines to effectively review assets, solve and anticipate problems, and communicate feedback.
    • Act as the connective tissue between the internal and external art teams, flagging risks and opportunities for process improvement.
    • Work with DDs to schedule delivery of internal reviews of external work.
    • Contribute to PopCap’s Art team culture of learning and accountability

    Qualifications

    • Must have 3+ experience working as a game artist on a game with live-ops - games with a similar cartoony aesthetic and irreverent tone are preferred.
    • At least 2 years of experience in scheduling, planning and workload distribution, with a focus on remote teams and collaborating with external partners.
    • Good understanding of development best practices, production life cycle, tools, and pipelines across multiple art disciplines (2d, 3d, animation, etc.)
    • Experience in Jira/JaaS and Excel/GSheet
