We are looking for a Senior Technical Animator to join our Star Wars Jedi team. The Senior Technical Animator will play a key role in creating high quality rigs as well as supporting our motion capture pipeline. This position reports to the Technical Art Director. 

Responsibilities 

You will: 

● Support and debug motion capture pipelines. 

● Ramp uponexisting animation systems, tools, and pipelines to provide support and debugging. 

● Collaborate with design, character art, animation, and outsourcing teams to ensure character fidelity. 

Qualifications 

● 3+ years of technical animation experience. 

● At least one shipped AAA title as a Senior Technical Animator or above. 

● Experience creating and managing motion capture pipelines. 

● Expertise in rigging and skinning assets. 

● Proficiency with Autodesk Maya and Motion Builder. 

● Must have experience with Maya and Mobu Python tool creation. 

● An understanding of linear algebra. 

● Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly while exercising decision-making skills. 

● Experience testing and reviewing your own work with attention to detail. 

● Strong collaboration skills with the animation disciplines. 

● Passion for games and high-quality animation.

    • $122,400 - $176,300 USD

In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
