World Art Director

This position is open to qualified individuals in Montreal, Vancouver or Edmonton. 


We are looking for an experienced World Art Director to join the skate. team. You will report to the Franchise Art Director. 


Responsibilities

  • As a World Art Director at Full Circle, you will define the direction of our environments and help create extremely fun, satisfying and polished experiences for our players.

  • Reporting to the Franchise Art Director, you will collaborate heavily with the World Leadership team and other directors on the project to develop and hone a cohesive vision for the environments.

  • Participate in and lead daily internal and external concept, world building and world content reviews, ensuring that work consistently meets visual quality, performance, creative direction and design requirements.

  • Your work will consist of developing clear, documented directions, while also driving effective art reviews with staff and partners, providing clear feedback to help artists and external teams achieve their goals.

  • Work closely with the production and development leads to track, organize, maintain, and push for progress.

  • Through your leadership, you will foster a culture of superlative respect, trust and collaboration for the environment art team, and across the entire game team.

  • Proven eye for visual quality to create the future of what gamers will experience.

  • You will also act as a people manager for several senior members of the world team

  • In addition, you have shipped a high-quality game in a role where you were responsible for guiding a large team of artists, critiquing their work, creating visual targets, and mentoring them. Art leads are encouraged to apply.



Qualifications

  • 8+ Years experience on Video Game Asset production teams

  • Previous experience as AD role on at least 1 shipped console/PC titles.

  • Must have experience as a people manager and team lead on at least one project.

  • Strong knowledge of architecture, visual storytelling, urban planning, and visual design.

  • Excellent sense of visual composition, form and color.

  • Deep knowledge of game content production requirements (artistic, technical, gameplay, optimization and performance).

  • A degree in Fine Arts, Animation, Visual Design, or related diploma or certificate, or related experience.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$130,800 - $183,000 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
