The FC Gameplay team creates the most authentic, engaging and fun football simulation experiences in the world. As a Gameplay Designer, you are in charge of defining, describing, documenting, communicating and verifying features and content that create those experiences for millions of players. Your blend of football knowledge, understanding of FC gameplay mechanics, and ability to translate them into elegant Gameplay solutions empower you to deliver detailed and comprehensive designs in collaboration with the team and following an established vision and design direction.

You will report to the Game Design Director.

You will work in a hybrid environment at our Vancouver studio.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop gameplay features from concept through to release
  • Create gameplay features and experiences that are unique to game modes within FC
  • Communicate the game's design to the team
  • Incorporate ideas and feedback from across the gameplay team
  • Work with animation, art, audio, design, programming, and visual effects to develop your features
  • Give concise and helpful feedback to help improve the game
  • Contribute to the development of tools and design processes to improve how we work
  • Follow direction and justify design decisions based on a shared product vision


Who You Are:

  • 2+ years of experience in a game production, design or quality verification role
  • Broad knowledge of game design processes, techniques and principles
  • Great eye for game quality and empathy for the player
  • Passion and knowledge of football and the EA SPORTS™ FC video game franchise
  • Curiosity and willingness to investigate design topics and in-game issues
  • Technical proficiency in 3D game engines

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$66,100 - $90,400 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
