Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

EA SPORTS is one of the most iconic brands in sports & entertainment with nearly 30 years of innovation, passion, and connection of millions of players across the globe to their favourite sports, teams, and athletes. We are creating a team to build a new unannounced AAA EA SPORTS product across platforms. This is your opportunity to join this new team to shape the future of interactive entertainment and create the next great EA SPORTS game.

The Advanced Technology Group is part of the EA SPORTS Tech organization, focused on developing the latest game features and engine enhancements in close collaboration with game and engine dev teams. You will be part of a team tackling a variety of technical challenges beginning from proof of concept to implementation for titles across EA. An essential priority for this group is to partner with the Frostbite team, our Game teams, and our central art team to create meaningful user facing experiences and content workflow improvements. You will work on our strategic, multi-year project in unifying our Create-a-Head tools and experiences while improving on the created character heads for all EA SPORTS titles.

The Lead Software Engineer is a part of the game creation process. You will be involved in architectural design and implementation of technology on multiple platforms. You will partner and report to the Development Director and Producer to help build the team's execution. You will work with designers, artists and other engineers to help define complex features across multiple domains including rendering, user interface, platform systems, machine learning and tools.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical design, architecture, and implementation of major, high-impact system components.

  • Build and deliver advanced technical solutions that span the full feature set of the Advanced Technology Group.

  • Partner closely with Frostbite teams to evolve our tools, core technology, and development workflows.

  • Collaborate with Sports & Racing game teams to bring cutting-edge technology, workflows, and features into live and upcoming titles.

  • Guide the team end-to-end—from technical discovery and pre-production through production and final integration—while keeping a sharp focus on performance, optimization, and build stability.

  • Help shape the future of the team by interviewing and hiring top-tier engineering talent.

  • Work alongside the Development Director and Producer to drive execution, alignment, and a strong, collaborative team culture.

Your Qualifications:

  • A genuine passion for building games and game technology.

  • Proven technical leadership and mentorship experience, with a track record of helping engineers grow.

  • Experience leading teams of 5+ engineers on complex, multi-disciplinary systems.

  • Deep expertise in C++, system architecture, and modern software engineering practices.

  • Hands-on experience with software design and architecture, from concept through implementation.

  • The ability to take high-level direction and drive it to execution, balancing autonomy with collaboration.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical partners.

  • 6+ years of experience developing object-oriented software in production environments.

  • A strong understanding of memory management, multi-processor systems, and runtime performance optimization.
