You will work on systems for data management and game asset processing, improving our content creator workflows and allowing faster iteration times. Some examples of the systems that you might work with:

  • The system that provides on-disk data to our editor

  • The pipeline for creating game-ready data

  • A caching system for built data

  • A service for On-demand loading

This is a hybrid remote/in-office role in Vancouver or Stockholm and you will report to a Development Director.

Responsibilities:

  • You will provide architectural guidance and technical expertise to enhance performance, profiling, and optimization

  • You will partner with the wider Frostbite engineering team to define strategic direction

  • You will collaborate on design, testing, and maintenance efforts

  • You will enhance tools, processes, and best practices

  • You will work with leadership to develop roadmaps

  • You will communicate with game and Frostbite teams to understand their needs and support them in using our technologies

  • You will acquire and share domain expertise

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience with C++ programming, data-guided design, and software architecture

  • Experienced in building high-performing concurrent software

  • Comfortable working within an established codebase

  • Experience with Agile development practices

  • Experience of data processing and data management

  • Experience implementing databases or file systems

  • Some experience with web services running locally and in Azure

  • Some experience with content pipelines

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$138,700 - $199,900 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
