The Data & Insights (D&I) team harnesses the power of data to deliver transformative insights and solutions to EA game teams and players. D&I teams are involved in every aspect of data, driving strategy and governance; building powerful data and AI applications; and developing personalization, experimentation, and analytics tools, and more. We are looking for an experienced, motivated, Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join us on the Skate team. You will bring broad technical and visual design skills to create our self-service insights hub. You will report to Skate's Director of Analytics in the Data and Insights organisation. You will also collaborate with a team of other data professionals as an embedded partner within the Full Circle studio.

Main Responsibilities

  • You will develop self-serve reporting solutions that delight partners and promote data-informed decisions across the studio.

  • You will unify requirements from multiple people into cohesive BI product specs.

  • You will develop a custom web app that unifies data & insights across tools (e.g. Looker Dashboards, Streamlit apps, Google Slides, Jupyter Notebooks)

  • You will define dashboard standards for our team that result in high quality experiences for the studio

  • You will build some dashboards yourself, while partnering with data analysts to build others.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience developing reports/dashboards

  • Experienced with visual design principles and best practices

  • Fluent in SQL, specifically for use with big data (e.g. terabyte-scale)

  • Proficiency in end-to-end dashboard performance tuning, including concepts like caching, SQL query optimization, and table structure optimization

  • Experience using AI to accelerate your work

Beneficial to Have

  • Experience in the video game industry

  • 2+ years working experience with Python or JavaScript

  • Experience working with unstructured datasets

  • Experience in the physical and logical design of database architecture for relational databases, data warehouses and data lakes

  • Web development experience (HTML, React)

  • Looker Administration or LookML development experience

  • Proficiency with git-based source control tools and CI/CD pipelines

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$100,000 - $139,500 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
