As the gaming industry shifts towards a live service-driven model, creating an engaging Ads experience and connecting relevant brands / advertisers to players is the key to EA's success. The AdTech team within EA's Dynamic Experience group is on a journey to build industry-leading solutions that empower e2e Ads lifecycle management workflows and performant, scalable and available services.

As a Software Engineer, you will help scale our video ad formats across all of EA's HD games. You will report to AdTech's Director of Engineering.

Responsibilities:

  • You will architect and build a Video Ads SDK for HD gaming platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and PC.
  • You will champion the SDK's integration with leading game engines like Frostbite, Unreal, and Unity.
  • You will cultivate partnerships with EA Game Studios and serve as a technical expert to lead the SDK's adoption.
  • You will foster a developer community by ensuring our technology is a seamless part of their game development workflow.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with expert-level proficiency in C++
  • Expertise in streaming protocols (HLS, DASH) and knowledge of video codecs (H.264, VP9) for efficient HD video delivery
  • Expertise in at least one major game engine (Unreal Engine, Unity, or Frostbite), with an ability to integrate SDKs while maintaining a high frame rate in AAA games
  • Experience with network programming, including HTTP, RESTful APIs, and implementing communication protocols between the SDK and ad servers
  • Experience building and maintaining a single SDK that works across multiple platforms (PC, console, mobile)

This is a hybrid remote/in-office role.
