You’ll be part of EA’s Legal Team and report to EA’s Head of Europe and LATAM Legal, based at Electronic Arts Germany in Cologne. You’ll be based in our Madrid office as part of Electronic Arts Spain, with the flexibility of a hybrid setup—three days in the office, two days remote.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Contract Review and Drafting: You will take ownership of reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements for Spain and LATAM, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, risk management principles and applicable laws.
  • Employment: You will provide general legal advise on employment matters in Spain including for employment litigations and draft and review employment contracts, and internal policies. You will provide strategic legal guidance, offering oversight on regulatory compliance, advising on legislative developments, and ensuring company policies and practices remain aligned with applicable employment laws. 
  • Corporate: You will draft and review corporate documents for corporate matters.
  • Research and Legal Analysis: You will conduct legal research on regional laws and regulations relevant to the video game industry and provide summaries to the legal team. You will stay up-to-date with legal trends and potential regulatory changes that could influence our regional operations.
  • Compliance Support: You will support senior members of the team in monitoring adherence to regional laws, including data privacy laws, labor regulations, and industry standards.
  • Litigations: You will provide legal support in case of local litigations and work closely with external counsel. 
  • Collaboration: You will work with other departments, including Finance, HR, Localisation, Facilities to provide legal input on daily projects. You will participate in meetings with internal clients to discuss legal considerations for multiple projects. You will be able to work with international colleagues in different time zones across Europe, LATAM and US.
  • Team Work: You will work closely with EAs Global Legal and Business Affairs Team.

Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified lawyer (Spanish law) with extended experience in an in-house legal department or law firm.
  • Strong expertise in employment law, including advising HR teams on policies, collective matters, employment contracts, and general workplace legal issues.
  • Hands-on experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts across a range of commercial areas.
  • Sound understanding of commercial law and transactional work, with a practical and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Experience to handle corporate matters. 
  • Business-focused approach and ability to partner effectively with local and international teams to design scalable and compliant solutions.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently, while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Genuine interest in working within a dynamic, international, and matrixed organization.
  • Flexibility to work with teams in different time zones.
  • Enthusiasm for the games industry and EA’s creative environment.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
