Game Art Intern


Contract: 12-month Internship

Location: Helsinki, Finland

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days a week in office)

The Challenge Ahead


EA Tracktwenty is an international mobile game studio rooted in Helsinki, Finland, committed to crafting enduring and captivating gaming experiences across mobile platforms. We brought the long-loved franchise SimCity to mobile, where it is played by millions of global players, fostering a legacy that spans generations. We are on a mission to create games that inspire diverse audiences, by listening to both players and our employees, investing in continuous growth, and a respectful and inclusive agile working environment.


Responsibilities:


  • You will create visually appealing 2D art and user interface (UI) assets for mobile games

  • You will support the design, development, and adaptation of scalable, intuitive UI layouts for various devices and resolutions

  • You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement UI features and meet project goals

  • You will refine art assets and UI solutions based on creative direction and team feedback

  • You will participate in playtests and brainstorming sessions to improve visual quality, usability, and player experience

  • You will ensure UI components and art assets function consistently and reliably across supported devices

  • You will maintain clear naming conventions, organised files, and up-to-date documentation for UI assets and workflows

  • You will learn and follow established brand guidelines and visual targets


Eligibility:


  • You are enrolled at a university or education provider with a planned internship period within your studies.

  • You are available to commence a full-time 12-month placement in September 2026.

  • You are eligible to work in Finland without additional visa or relocation support.


Skills:

  • Technical

    • Understand fundamental graphic design principles (colour, typography, composition, and visual hierarchy) within mobile games

    • Iterate on designs

    • Follow feedback and adapt work accordingly

    • Proficient in Photoshop, and other UI/graphic design tools (e.g. Figma)

  • Curiosity and Approach to Learning

    • Seek out new knowledge and experiences, ask questions

    • Keen to learn new skills and experiment with new tools or techniques

    • Interest in games, especially mobile or free-to-play titles

  • Collaboration

    • Enjoy working with others, value diverse perspectives, and communicate openly

    • Motivated by collective achievements and helping foster an inclusive environment.

  • Creativity and Problem Solving

    • Bring original ideas and fresh perspectives to challenges.

    • Look for new ways to improve and don't settle for the first solution.
