Senior Game Designer - EA SPORTS UFC

As a Senior Game Designer, you will help shape the player experience at a foundational level. Reporting to the Senior Creative Director, you will collaborate across design, product, engineering, animation, art, and production to translate creative vision into high-quality gameplay systems and features. You will operate as both a hands-on designer and a design leader—raising the bar for craft, clarity, and execution across the team.


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Creative and Product leadership to help define and champion the vision for core gameplay experiences and systems.
  • Lead the design and execution of major features or experience pillars from concept through implementation and polish.
  • Drive clarity by producing high-quality design documentation, prototypes, and implementation plans.
  • Elevate design quality across the team by providing thoughtful feedback, leading critiques, and mentoring other designers.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Animation, Art, and Production to ensure features are feasible, aligned, and delivered at a high standard.
  • Balance creative ambition with production realities, making informed trade-offs that preserve player experience.
  • Use player insights, playtest feedback, and market understanding to inform iteration and decision-making.
  • Advocate for player-first design decisions that align with franchise and business objectives.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional game design experience, with meaningful ownership of shipped console or AAA titles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the design of complex gameplay systems or major features.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to design cohesive player experiences.
  • Experience mentoring designers and contributing to team-level design standards.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-discipline and influence direction without direct authority.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous spaces and helping bring structure to evolving creative goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Transparency - North America

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$111,600 - $152,800 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
