Senior Cinematic Artist

Join us to enhance visual storytelling for Battlefield. You'll work with a team of creative and technical experts to push the boundaries of Cinematics and SP/PVE experiences for our franchise.

We're seeking a Cinematic Generalist to help craft our upcoming cinematic content. In this role, you'll contribute across the entire cinematic pipeline - from shot layout and animation to VFX, lighting, and final rendering. You'll work closely with the Cinematic Director and Level Designer to bring the creative and technical vision to life.

In addition to hands-on production work, you'll serve as a lead, mentoring and supporting junior team members while helping elevate the team's overall craft and execution.

Experience in AAA game cinematics or film/TV VFX is highly valued, along with strong proficiency in real-time engines. You should be comfortable delivering both performant real-time cinematics and high-quality pre-rendered content. You will report to the Sr Director, Cinematics.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a versatile contributor to the team, with the ability to understand and adapt between technical prototyping & exploration, hands-on implementation, cinematic storytelling and cinematic content production
  • Work hands-on in Frostbite with everything from previs through to final pixels.
  • Script interactive moments and cinematic events, ensuring seamless integration with game systems and mechanics.
  • Help evaluate our workflows and present suggestions on how to improve our pipeline.
  • Take an active part in elevating our cinematic storytelling.
  • Push the boundaries of visual storytelling through your experience and visual excellence.
  • Work as a leader in a pod structure to lead and deliver world class cinematic storytelling for our experiences in PVE and PVP.

Qualifications:

  • An artist with a track-record of delivering multiple successful projects. 7 years minimum experience.
  • Experience creating world class cinematic shots, on time and on brief.
  • Experience of a similar role within a commercial environment.
    • 3D skillsets in layout and animation.
    • Experience with taking a shot from layout, through previs to final result.
    • Knowledge of visual storytelling, cinematic language and camera composition.
    • Experience with post-production pipelines.
    • Experience with lighting either game engine or 3D-package.
  • Program skills
    • Knowledge in using 3d packages with a focus on Maya and Motion Builder.
    • Knowledge of real-time engine technology is considered a major plus.
    • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Especially with Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects.
  • Other skills
    • Has the passion to lead others in a project and help them grow and develop.
    • Has the ability to learn new software quickly.
    • Sets clear priorities to complete work tasks. Being able to use wide brush strokes to prove out a concept before spending time on the details.
    • Can work to designated deadlines & communicate progress.
    • Excited about learning new workflows and adding insight into the production processes.
