Multimedia Strategist, Fan Care

About the Role

We are hiring a Multimedia Strategist to scale EA’s multimedia production engine, anchored in Simplified Chinese (SC), while expanding strategically across priority APAC markets (Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, China).

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Multimedia, this role is first and foremost accountable for multimedia production scale and quality — beginning with Simplified Chinese in-game education — with APAC strategy designed to strengthen and extend that production engine.

This role blends production leadership, regional strategy, creator validation, and measurable impact — with clear partnership across Localization, Publishing, Studios, and Analytics.

Core Responsibility Pillars

1️⃣ Multimedia Production & Scale (Core Accountability – 50%)

Own and scale EA’s multimedia production engine, anchored in Simplified Chinese in-game content.

Primary Accountability:

  • Lead end-to-end production of Simplified Chinese multimedia assets for in-game placements (video, GIFs, overlays).

  • Align content to studio roadmaps, live calendars, and Fan Care priorities.

  • Support onboarding, feature launches, live events, and recovery moments.

  • Ensure assets are modular and reusable across in-game, EA Help, and community surfaces.

  • Maintain brand integrity, gameplay accuracy, and performance standards.

Scale & Systems:

  • Build scalable production templates and workflows.

  • Increase output efficiency without compromising quality.

  • Identify repeatable formats that support long-term production velocity.

This pillar remains the core outcome of the role.

2️⃣ APAC Multimedia Strategy & Localization Expansion (20 %)

Shape the APAC multimedia strategy that strengthens and extends the production engine beyond Simplified Chinese.

Regional Strategy:

  • Partner with APAC Publishing, GLMs, and Studios to identify player friction across:

    • New user onboarding

    • Returning/lapsed players

    • Event-based re-engagement

    • Identify where contextual in-game multimedia can proactively reduce friction.

Localization Strategy (in partnership with External Vendor): This role does not own localization operations or workflow management, which remain under Localization leadership.

  • Define what multimedia should be localized across Thai, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese markets.

  • Design a scalable APAC localization framework to guide prioritization and sequencing.

  • Ensure cultural nuance and regional intent behind localized content.

Execution Partnership:

  • External Vendor owns localization operations and execution flow.

  • This role partners closely to shape strategic direction and prioritization.

  • Align with broader APAC content plans

Production scale remains the anchor; APAC strategy enables and extends it.

3️⃣ Creator & Regional Validation Model (In Partnership – 10%)

Build a regional validation loop to ensure multimedia reflects real player friction and trusted formats.

In partnership with the Content Creator Lead:

  • Identify regional creators across Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, and China who can:

    • Validate real player friction

    • Pressure-test explanations

    • Develop formats players organically trust

  • Adapt high-performing creator content for in-game and EA Help use.

  • Ensure brand and gameplay accuracy guardrails are maintained.

  • Support cross-posting of educational content into regional Discord and community ecosystems.

This pillar strengthens relevance and player trust while supporting the production engine.

4️⃣ Measurement & Impact (Shared Accountability – 20%)

Ensure multimedia initiatives drive measurable Fan Care and channel impact.

In partnership with the Business Analyst and Sr. Multimedia Manager:

  • Define measurable outcomes for APAC multimedia initiatives.

  • Establish baseline metrics in pilot markets (Thailand & Indonesia).

  • Track localization performance by territory.

  • Validate scale criteria before expansion into Japan, Korea, and China.

  • Align multimedia performance to Fan Care and distribution KPIs.

Clarified Ownership:

  • This role: owns content performance inputs and optimization.

  • Business Analyst: owns reporting and analytical validation.

  • Sr. MM Manager: partners on distribution strategy and channel alignment.

Performance data informs continuous optimization of production scale and APAC expansion.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with:

  • Studio Product Managers & Development Directors

  • Localization execution

  • Content Creator Lead

  • Business Analyst

  • Community & Marketing stakeholders

  • APAC Publishing & GLMs

Manage projects end-to-end: intake, scripting, production, localization coordination, QA, and deployment.

Align planning to live-service calendars and regional priorities (Airtable).

What Success Looks Like:

Within 12–18 months:

  • Increased localized in-game multimedia placements across APAC priority titles (in partnership with Sr Multimedia Manager)

  • Continued ownership and high-quality delivery of Simplified Chinese multimedia creation, maintaining brand consistency and performance across priority titles.

  • Successful Thailand & Indonesia pilot validation.

  • Expanded multimedia localization beyond Simplified Chinese.

  • Measurable feature adoption lift and self-service improvement in APAC markets.

  • Established scalable APAC localization and creator-integration model.
