Role overview:

Data Wranglers are central to the Create Capture team, managing captured data flow through production pipelines and supporting coordination and information exchange between partners. Responsibilities:

  • You will validate and manage production data (ie. shot, talent and prop lists) to ensure accuracy and quality within databases.

  • You will prepare pre-shoot technical setups and support production activities across motion capture, scanning, and technical development.

  • You will oversee data workflows across the pipeline, including motion capture and scanning processes, and be an important resource for session setup and data transfer into post-production.

  • You will be the first contact for pipeline issues, troubleshooting failures and initiating mitigation plans or escalating where required.

  • You will support game development and animation teams in post-production, including coordination with partner teams.

  • You will manage data flow workflow and pipeline documentation, and help onboard new team members.

Qualifications:

  • You have demonstrated technical skills and a commitment to learning and improving pipeline processes and workflows.

  • You have knowledge of Monday.com to manage tasks and scheduling.

  • You have at least one year using ShotGrid to manage assets and workflows.

  • You are comfortable using proprietary tools.

  • You understand the purpose and effect of custom toolsets within the pipeline, and how they support end-to-end production workflows.

  • You maintain current knowledge of industry-standard file formats and best practices.

  • You have a working knowledge of technical dependencies across 3D scanning, motion capture, performance capture, and virtual cinematography.

  • You have coordinated schedules and dependencies to support smooth data flow through each stage of the pipeline.

  • You have used judgement to identify potential risks, and support resolution within the pipeline.

  • You have worked in a production environment with tight turnaround timelines and high asset volume, collaborating across teams.

  • You have managed large volumes of data and ensured accuracy and consistency.

Desirable experience:

  • You understand scriptwriting in Python.

  • You have knowledge of Maya, Adobe Bridge CC or Reality Capture.

  • You have worked as a Data Wrangler or On-set Digital Imaging Technician within VFX, film & TV Post-production coordination.
