On NHL, the Game Product Manager’s mission, in close collaboration with the wider NHL Live Content Team, is to help create the most engaging and rewarding live service experience for our players. You will have a mix of analytical and business abilities that can help execute against actionable plans and content strategies that benefit our players. You will report directly to the Director of Product Management and will partner with other Product Managers, Producers, Game Designers, Artists, and external team members to further the growth of NHL's live service.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage live content, campaigns and features that maximize acquisition, engagement, and monetization throughout the product cycle.
- Conduct and communicate in-depth analysis of in-game trends using data insights to affect top line Indicators.
- Partner with Product and Franchise teams to execute against product roadmap that includes all important monetization levers: Features, Content, Events, Marketing campaigns, Offers, Promotions, Regionalization, Segmentation, A/B testing, Platforms, etc.
- Partnership with the Live Services Team to measure player base health and performance throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Track progress against business goals of multiple features in order to optimize them using live data.
- Manage and drive forecasting process, aligning to KPI targets and product roadmap/strategy.
- Support business reviews and executive presentations and communications.
- Develop and manage a process for monitoring player feedback on forums and message boards for player feedback, painting a cohesive story based on game KPIs and player feedback to inform roadmap decisions.
- Leverage experience and research from qualitative and quant sources to develop an advanced level of understanding of player motivations, personas and segmentations and apply to multiple game features. Ensures player feedback is accounted for in team's decision making process.
- Track and develop an expert level understanding of gaming trends and insights, specifically with Live Service games.
- Translate real world NHL games/events into live content ideas/plans that further enhance the world of sports entertainment for our players.
- Collaborate with our internal technical partner groups, developing technologies that affect the game or live service.
- Develop process to monitor forums and message boards for player feedback on latest releases with community manager and producer.
Your Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of Product Management, Game Design or equivalent experience required (Preferably in Live Services).
- Experience using data and insights to inform product development and experience with data-driven product design.
- Ability using and understanding in-game trends using data insights to affect top line Indicators.
- Experience communicating complex concepts to a variety of audiences, with experience presenting decks to multiple partners.
- Desirable but not essential: A NHL fan with a good understanding of the core mechanics of NHL and its live features.
- Experienced in:
- Successful live service console and/or mobile games having delivered and maintained at least one product through the product life cycle.
- Obtaining insights and developing insights through analytical metrics driven analysis and design experimentation.
- Business operational forecasting and modeling.
- Building presentations/communications, and presenting to leadership or executives.
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
- $89,300 - $123,000 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
