Quality Designer II
Frostbite is EA's proprietary game engine that comes equipped with tonnes of technologies designed to build incredible games. Our in-house engine offers the capacity to evolve for each game while working hand-in-hand to prioritise what to build. Our goal is to empower creators all over the world to bring their best ideas to life by creating an engine that amplifies innovation across every discipline
We are looking for an experienced Quality Designer II to join the Frostbite team.
This is a hybrid role based in Melbourne, Australia, and you will report to the Quality Verification Development Manager.
As a Quality Designer II, you will help to define and lead one or more aspects of the Quality Verification strategy for Frostbite. This is an opportunity to use your quality assurance expertise to deliver and maintain high-quality experiences and tools for our partners and creators across EA.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with partners to define quality goals, recommend improvements, and create reliable, accessible technology solutions.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Quality Verification team members, promoting best practices within the Frostbite environment.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of quality standards, processes, and best practices.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing within the team and across departments.
- Identify and escalate risks related to quality, ensuring rapid response to new issues and minimising impact on the user experience.
- Help test new features and bug fixes across platforms
- Integrate data analysis into the Quality Verification strategy to guide informed decision-making.
- Identify and advocate for automation and tooling opportunities to enhance testing processes within the Frostbite environment.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of game industry or Quality Assurance experience.
- Hands-on experience testing or working with modern game engines (such as Unity, Unreal, Frostbite, or similar).
- Experience working with distributed teams.
- Advanced familiarity with source control and development tools (e.g., Perforce, Visual Studio).
- A track record improving QA processes and coaching junior team members.
- Exposure to scripting or programming is advantageous, but not required
