EA SPORTS is one of the most iconic brands in sports & entertainment with nearly 30 years of innovation, passion, and connection of millions of players across the globe to their favourite sports, teams, and athletes. We are creating a team to build a new unannounced AAA EA SPORTS product across platforms. This is your opportunity to join this new team to shape the future of interactive entertainment and create the next great EA SPORTS game.
Our Advanced Technology Group is part of the EA SPORTS Technology organization, focusing on identifying and creating new, scalable technologies for game teams. We closely collaborate with game teams, central art teams, and the Frostbite engine team; though the technologies developed can apply to many different engines, environments, and hardware platforms. You will work on our strategic, multi-year projects focused on user-generated experiences, improved creation pipelines and runtime functionality, both internal and player facing, for all EA SPORTS titles.
We're looking for a Systems Software Engineer or someone interested in expanding their knowledge in the Systems area. Our systems engineers maintain a broad range of our technology stack and look for ways to improve performance, utility, and capabilities for our players, as well as enhance workflows for our development team. Above all, we’re looking for an engineer who is excited to use their talent and experience to build AAA-quality technology.
Your Responsibilities:
Work with other engineers across the game team to integrate, develop and debug core technologies and features in a large codebase, merging modern and legacy designs across multiple hardware architectures.
Manage and optimize memory, load times, and performance.
Debug a range of defects in development environments.
Look for ways to increase team efficiency through automation, tooling, or workflow enhancements.
Contribute to core EA technologies to promote collaborative development efforts.
Work with technical and non-technical co-workers to create practical technical designs that meet players’ expectations.
Your Qualifications:
Please note that you do not need to meet all qualifications to be considered. We encourage you to apply if you can meet most of the requirements and are comfortable opening a dialog to be considered.
3+ years of C++ development experience.
Ability to learn, test, debug, and extend other software engineer's code.

Experience with profiling tools to monitor and diagnose issues.
Experience with build systems, pipelines, and source control.
Experience with codebases supporting multiple compilers and architectures.
Experience communicating and collaborating with external team members or teams.
Experience integrating and maintaining large-scale systems and legacy codebases, covering multiple disciplines.
Experience with multiple programming languages (Python, Lua, C#).
