Sculpting the likeness of an athlete, building massive environments, populating them with coaches, fans, buildings, trees and props – our art team has the ultimate goal of creating fun, immersive, and exciting characters and worlds for our players to experience.


As a 3D Art Generalist II you will work with both internal and external teams of the Character, World/Environment, Lighting, and VFX domains to deliver diverse and engaging characters, worlds, and gameplay levels for our players. You will collaborate closely with Art Directors, Craft Directors, Designers, and Engineers to help develop both the visual and gameplay experiences – according to the goals of each.

This is a full-time role on location in our Orlando, FL studio.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Creating high-quality benchmark content of all scales from an individual player head sculpt to entire stadiums/arenas

  • Deconstruct concept art, reference imagery, and style guides into efficient asset lists, considering opportunities for reuse and modularization

  • Explore, recommend, and implement new techniques, tools, and workflows that improve quality and efficiency

  • Coordinate with external developers to deliver game ready assets

 

Your Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of production experience with 3d asset creation 

  • Proficient high fidelity modeling skills in Maya or similar, along with ability to paint photorealistic surfaces using Zbrush and Substance Painter

  • Able to customize node-based shaders to meet visual/technical requirements

  • Well versed in assessing scope, making recommendations, and providing solid estimates.

  • Able to develop new workflows and processes that improve quality and efficiency through a combination of simple scripting and procedural applications like Houdini, Substance Designer, Unreal Blueprints, etc

  • Able to Motivate, teach, and mentor teammates by establishing best practices, visual targets, training, and documentation

  • Experience engaging with external developers through documentation, instruction, and coordinated reviews

 

 Portfolio Requirements

  • Examples of assets that were created/owned from design through completion.

  • Examples of high-fidelity modeled assets painted using 3D paint software, e.g., Substance Painter

  • Character sculpts that demonstrate an understanding of anatomy and capturing the unique likeness of a public figure  

  • Sets, objects, and environments that demonstrate an understanding of composition, architectural construction, material properties, and organic wear and tear

  • Art that demonstrates the versatility to produce either photo realistic or stylized content in a range of conditions from pristine to destroyed

  • Examples of assets that were created/modified using procedural applications is a plus.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$91,100 - $126,900 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
