We are hiring an AI Engineer to join the Player Intelligence & Growth team within Data and Insights (D&I), reporting to a Sr Manager. This team partners with all of EA's game studios to offer data science & AI products and solutions. For this AI Engineer role we are looking for applied and practical AI/ML expertise with a focus on Gen AI Solutions. You will help scale our internal AI-powered insights tool by partnering with analysts, product teams, marketing, and titles like EA SPORTS FC™, Apex Legends™, The Sims™, and Madden NFL.

We're looking for a hands-on engineer with practical experience building AI/ML-driven systems, evaluating emerging tools, and delivering impactful, reusable solutions across multiple domains.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with game teams/partners (internal clients) to understand their offerings/domain and create AI products and solutions to solve for their use cases.

  • Focus on problem-driven approaches, applying pragmatic solutions to game team opportunities and decisions.

  • Develop plans to generalize AI products across titles.

  • Review AI tools used within the team, providing guidance and being accountable for the success and the adoption of the project/product.

  • Communicate AI & data science projects and products to partners.

  • Ensure your engineering approach, evaluation methods, and AI experiments produce reliable, meaningful outcomes.

  • Implement feature enhancements for our AI-powered analytics tool using GCP services, LLMs, and our internal tech stack.

  • Engage with other Data Scientists, Data Analysts sharing best practices and help consult on cross-projects.

  • Design, improve and work with our data pipeline that transfers and processes petabytes of data using tools, such as: AWS, S3, Kubernetes, GCP, Python, Apache Kafka, Ruby & Hive.

  • Use your computer science & AI knowledge to build pipelines for new capabilities using Gen AI.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/ML, or a related quantitative field encouraged.

  • 4+ years of experience building AI, ML, or data-driven systems in production environments.

  • Proficiency with Python, SQL, and cloud technologies (preferably GCP).

  • Experience working with LLMs, embeddings, retrieval systems, or AI agents.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD, microservices, and cloud-native deployment patterns.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to translate partner needs into scalable technical solutions.

  • Experience working with large datasets and modern data engineering tools.

  • Interest in games is a big plus.

This is a hybrid position.


Pay Transparency - North America

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$119,600 - $167,300 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
