Motive is looking for an AI Programmer Intern to join our Iron Man team. You will help the team build engaging AI behaviors and the tools to make them in Unreal Engine 5.


Responsibilities:

  • You will work with other programmers and designers to create and debug behaviors for the different types of AI agents in the game.
  • You will work with, and perhaps work on the functionality of, core AI systems like pathfinding and sensing.
  • You will improve the tools used by our AI designers and provide additional debugging or diagnostic support.


Qualifications:

  • Candidate for a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • C++ knowledge required.
  • Unreal Engine knowledge is desired but not required.
  • C# or Python knowledge may be advantageous but not critical.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of good software engineering practices.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and continuous feedback.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies, platforms, and game areas.
  • The best candidates will have completed personal game or domain-specific projects outside of school requirements.


We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2025, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2025. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis during the 4-month internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
