Advertising & Sponsorships, Research Manager

SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Research Manager to lead the custom research initiatives (i.e. consumer surveys or social listening, etc.) in support of the Advertising & Sponsorships (A&S) business at EA. The ideal candidate will be an expert in various research methodologies, capable of culminating data points and research results into actionable insights stories and developing custom research that aligns with business objectives. This role requires independent project management, strategic thinking, experience in designing, planning consumer research and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement research strategies that address complex business scenarios. 

  • Translate research findings into actionable insights stories for internal and external audiences.

  • Coordinate and prioritize research requests, ensuring alignment with long-term planning.

  • Leverage EA’s enterprise tools and platforms to design and field brand lift studies. 

  • Advocate for A&S needs in EA research and analytics tool & platform procurement plans. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.

  • Innovate and propose new methodologies to meet evolving research needs.

  • Facilitate research roadmapping and manage financial and time resources effectively.

  • Drive stakeholder meetings, providing leadership and direction.

  • Coach and mentor less experienced researchers, fostering a culture of best practices.

  • Manage the RFP process, including vendor selection and negotiation.

  • Participate in hiring and provide insights on resourcing needs.


Qualifications:

  • Expertise in a wide range of research methodologies and the ability to innovate new approaches.

  • Proven ability to independently manage complex research projects simultaneously and long-term planning.

  • Strong strategic thinking skills, capable of aligning research with business objectives.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders.

  • Exceptional communication skills, adept at crafting narratives across various formats.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.

  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and the RFP process.

  • Ability to mentor and elevate the contributions of peers and less experienced researchers.

  • In-depth knowledge of industry trends and the competitive landscape.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in consumer research role in-house or agency.

This role is scoped for Vancouver, hybrid (in-office part-time). 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $107,600 - $147,100 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
