Our motive is to develop innovative action games set in iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero. Let's say that again—iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero.

Our passion has taken us from imagining dogfighter pilots in Star Wars™: Squadrons to re-creating Isaac Clarke onboard the Ishimura in Dead Space™. Currently, we're working on two exciting projects, an original Iron Man™ action-adventure game and what's coming next for Battlefield™.

We believe in sharing our passion with our community and each other, fostering an inclusive culture, and nurturing a growth mindset. Although our approach may seem simple, it leads us to create the best work of our careers, bringing unique and immersive experiences to our players.

Motive is looking for a Senior Technical Animator specializing in narrative pipelines, processes and workflows to join its Iron Man team using Unreal Engine 5. You will report to the Technical Cinematics Director and collaborate with the narrative content creation teams, along with tools programmers and other technical animators, to build and maintain tools and systems to facilitate the creation and integration of the project’s rich narrative content.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the narrative content creation teams to understand their process and needs.
  • Implement and support runtime cinematic pipelines and content integrations.
  • Troubleshoot tools and workflows related technical issues with the narrative team.
  • Guide and tutor cinematic animation staff on project best practices.
  • Act as a subject matter liaison within the wider EA development community.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with animation principles and the nature of animating for games.
  • Familiarity with advanced game engines like Unreal, Unity and others
  • Experience integrating animation content into a game engine.
  • Experience creating or maintaining animation workflows and tools within DCC applications.
  • Experience writing Python scripts/tools for Maya and/or MotionBuilder.
  • Understanding of the motion capture process and the data it produces.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Holds their work to high standards and desires to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Strong teamwork skills while also retaining the ability to take ownership and work independently.
  • Passion for making games look and play great.

Supplemental Skills:

  • Experience writing tools in C++.
  • Experience creating animation rigs for games.
