The Role: We are looking for an experienced Art Line Director to join us in our studio’s mission to create amazing games and experiences, and to enhance ourselves and our craft. We are excited by someone who is passionate about growing great people. You will mentor a wide range of artists, ranging from junior to very senior. You will partner with the Studio Art Director and Art Line Managers to lead the Art team. You will focus on artists, to grow their long-term skills and identify and achieve career goals. You will also partner with other craft team Line Managers to create and lead studio plans, and help enhance our studio high performance culture.

You will report to the Studio Art Line Director.

We are considering on-site and hybrid working options within Vancouver to apply.

What skills do we look for:

  • Coach, mentor, and career development for artists, through 1-on-1’s and other recurring interactions
  • Provide regular feedback that supports individual growth
  • Resource and talent planning for art team
  • Performance and salary reviews
  • Identify talent opportunities for the art team and lead recruitment 
  • Partner with Line Managers from other crafts to grow Ripple Effect’s Line Organization

We believe that you have experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in art development, and have led an art team through a shipped product.
  • Experience both as an individual contributor and a manager, including managing a range of Art Staff, encompassing both junior and senior talent
  • Experience with mentoring and growing others

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $126,000 - $176,300 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
