Description & Requirements
Motive is looking for its next Cinematic Artist to join our team of passionate creators. Our Cinematic Artist's skill sets are varied but are seen as the 3D storyboarders and in-house cinematographers visualizing the Director’s high level vision that will go on to inform the shoot and post-production lifecycle. They are expected to be hands-on content creators that deliver early visual development of cinematic content.
Responsibilities
As part of our pre-visualization and layout team, you will work in both the game engine and in DCC (digital content creator) to visualize shots and sequences on a project basis, working with the creative direction of the Cinematic Director to define the shot composition, staging, lighting, and camera language - including movement- lens choices, and framing. You are technically proficient with animation software, as well as game engines, allowing you to identify and solve both technical and creative issues.
You will be expected to work closely with the cinematic animation, narrative, audio, vfx and technical teams, ensuring creative collaboration and technical handoff between production stages.

Qualifications:
- 2+ Years of Experience with Unreal or other AAA engine
- 2+ Years of Experience with Autodesk Motion Builder and Autodesk Maya
- Strong sense of cinematic composition, storytelling and lighting
- Character performance (timing and blocking)
- Camera animation
- Knowledge of cinematic language and technical terminology
- Able to work with motion and/or performance capture data
- Able to take and interpret creative direction
- Adaptable and accepting of creative change throughout a project
- Understand shooting methodology and can apply in 3D software
- Able to apply shooting methodology to Staging/Previz to create technical solutions for production
- Able to solve and design solutions to on set needs
