Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Role Overview

Are you interested in leading at the intersection of game production and project management? Do you bring strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills? EA SPORTS has a unique opportunity for you! We are seeking individuals to join our EA SPORTS Academy in a first-of-its-kind, hybrid Producer/Project Manager track. This 12‑month immersive experience will provide the knowledge, mentorship, and hands-on experience needed to build the foundation for the next generation of EA SPORTS Producers and Project Managers. Participants will develop the creative, operational, and leadership capabilities required to deliver high-quality sports gaming experiences from concept through launch. As a member of this program, you will undergo a structured, dual-discipline curriculum and receive formal dual-mentorship from both a Senior Producer and a Senior Development Director

The Game Maker is a hybrid, entry-level leadership role that combines creative feature ownership with project planning and execution. This role will support the delivery of high-quality game features from concept to launch while ensuring alignment across scope, schedule, quality, and budget.

You will operate at the intersection of product vision and execution rigor — support cross-functional decision-making, balancing creative ambition with operational constraints that help teams deliver predictable, high-quality outcomes.

This role requires strong systems thinking, the ability to influence without authority, and ownership of delivery outcomes across multiple disciplines including design, engineering, art, QA, and production.

What You Will Do

Product & Feature Ownership

  • Support delivery of key features or game areas from concept through launch.

  • Partner with Design and Creative leadership to define feature vision, player value, and success criteria.

  • Apply systems tradeoff thinking to evaluate scope, cost, risk, quality, and timeline implications.

  • Contribute to product decisions that balance player experience with execution realities.

  • Ensure feature quality aligns with franchise standards and player expectations.

Execution & Delivery Leadership

  • Help to establish clear goals and delivery plans aligned to overall franchise milestones.

  • Build and maintain detailed project schedules based on team estimates.

  • Manage dependencies and remove delivery blockers.

  • Communicate progress, challenges, and priorities with your team.

  • Ensure alignment between scope, timelines, quality targets, and available resources.

  • Support a collaborative culture that achieves outcomes.

Change & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Lead teams through change, shifting priorities, and evolving production realities.

  • Communicate status, risks, and tradeoffs transparently to leadership and partners.

  • Build strong working relationships across disciplines and external partners.

  • Represent your area of ownership in franchise-level planning discussions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • You are a leader who takes initiative, motivates others, and drives results.

  • You think in systems and see the bigger picture, offering thoughtful solutions to complex challenges.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Previous project management or team leadership experience is an asset

  • Experience in different project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile is an asset

  • A passion for video games, particularly EA SPORTS titles, is a strong asset.

  • You have an interest in, or experience with, American Football - whether recreationally or competitively.

Core competencies you will gain during the Academy

  • Systems Thinking: balancing scope, quality, and player impact

  • Operational Discipline: rigorous operational planning

  • Product & Business Acumen: translating feature vision into playable, successful features

  • Cross-functional Influence: learning to lead without authority

  • Leadership Judgement: managing ambiguity and team health in a complex environment
