As part of Development Creative Services (DCS), you’ll contribute to the creative execution that brings EA SPORTS’ most iconic franchises to life. DCS functions as an integrated, internal production partner, delivering high-quality animation content at scale for global teams behind EA SPORTS

The Associate Animator will support the creation of dynamic, gameplay-driven animations in collaboration with the animation leadership team in Kuala Lumpur. You will focus on implementing polished character motion that enhances the realism and responsiveness of EA SPORTS titles, while growing your skills within a supportive, mentorship-driven environment. 

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sports animation, work with industry-leading tools and pipelines, and contribute to globally beloved games as part of EA’s growing studio in Malaysia. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Create fluid, responsive, and gameplay-driven character animations using motion-capture data and keyframe techniques 
  • Implement animations directly within the game engine, ensuring technical quality and performance 
  • Collaborate with gameplay, design, and engineering teams to integrate animations into live gameplay 
  • Refine animations based on feedback from leads and internal reviews 
  • Maintain animation assets, documentation, and file organization within shared pipelines 
  • Follow technical constraints and artistic direction to deliver animations on schedule 
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of animation tools, workflows, and best practices

Qualifications: 

  • 2+ years of experience in game animation or a strong professional portfolio demonstrating equivalent skills 
  • Proficiency in animation software and familiarity with motion-capture workflows 
  • Solid understanding of core animation principles: timing, spacing, weight, and exaggeration 
  • Experience with game engines and animation implementation tools 
  • Basic knowledge of rigging and technical animation constraints 
  • Strong eye for motion detail and responsiveness in interactive environments 
  • Ability to receive and incorporate iterative feedback 
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)

 

Portfolio/Demo Reel Required: Must include examples of shipped gameplay animation.
