Reporting to the Lead Cinematics Designer, we are looking for an Associate Cinematics Designer to help create industry-leading real-time cinematics and presentation experiences for EA SPORTS FC. A Cinematics Designer is a filmmaker working in real time. They combine the art of storytelling, filmmaking, animation, and cinematography with the technical skills required to bring interactive experiences to life inside a modern game engine.

As an Associate Cinematics Designer, you will learn from experienced developers while helping build compelling in-game experiences across gameplay presentation, broadcast, celebrations, introductions, player journeys, and other cinematic moments. Working closely with Animation, Design, Art, Audio, Technical Art, Engineering, and Production, you'll assemble scenes, implement content, solve technical challenges, and develop the skills to become an expert in real-time interactive storytelling. This team works in a hybrid model from our Bucharest studio, with three days per week onsite.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong artistic fundamentals who enjoys both creative storytelling and technical problem solving.


Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of real-time cinematic sequences and presentation experiences within the game engine.
  • Assemble scenes using animation, cameras, characters, environments, lighting, visual effects, audio, and gameplay systems.
  • Create camera work, composition, pacing, and visual storytelling under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Assist with implementing gameplay and cinematic schematics using visual scripting and engine tools. Collaborate with Animation, Design, Art, Technical Art, Engineering, Audio, and Production to deliver polished player experiences.
  • Debug implementation issues and iterate on content based on creative and technical feedback.
  • Learn cinematic pipelines, workflows, tools, and best practices while contributing ideas that improve quality and efficiency.
  • Help maintain a high level of polish, authenticity, and emotional impact across cinematic experiences.


Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Game Development (including experience using game engines), Animation, Film or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of filmmaking fundamentals, including cinematography, composition, pacing, staging, and visual storytelling.
  • Understanding of animation principles including acting, timing, weight, body mechanics, and performance.
  • Passion for creating memorable player experiences through storytelling and presentation.
