EA SPORTS Tech provides specialized technology teams working on modern character motion, content pipelines and workflows, machine learning, game security, dev ops, as well as long lead feature and technology development for all EA SPORTS titles. About the Role:

Are you passionate about new technologies and continually pushing the boundaries of game development? Great, so are we! EA Sports Technical Art is seeking a creative Development Manager to partner with our incredible team of Technical Artists to ensure successful content delivery of tools across all of EA Sports. In this role, you will own the project schedule and ensure we stay organized and on track. Great communication and partnership management are key assets in this role, to ensure excellence in execution to make our characters and content come to life. This team works onsite in Burnaby 3 days/week: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This is a 12-month contract to begin with.

Team Coordination and Execution 

  • You will report directly to the project Development Director 

  • You will support, track, and assign tasks from defined project goals

  • You will collaborate with the team members on day-to-day project needs, including operations, documentation, and communication with external teams

  • You will mitigate risk for the assigned scope in partnership with the Development Director

  • You will monitor capacity (resource balance) and partner with production to manage scope and quality

  • When needed, you will collaborate and coordinate requirements with external partners 

Project Management

  • You will partner with the Development Director to support sprint planning and retrospectives, promoting best practices for task tracking

  • You will update and leverage project schedules (roadmaps)

  • Support daily stand-ups 

  • Support note-taking, action items, and follow-ups from meetings 

  • Support for reports generation 

 

Role Requirements:

  • 1-2+ years of software project management or team leadership experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience within a technical domain 

  • Knowledge of different project management methodologies, such as Waterfall and Agile in a software development setting

  • Proficiency with Jira as a primary project management tool

  • Strong communication skills 

  • A positive team and customer-centric attitude

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$83,000 - $116,400 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
 In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
