About Us: Our Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) team is an important part of our development process, delivering relevant insights that support our game teams to optimize software performance and improve gameplay.
The Advanced Technology Group is part of the EA SPORTS Tech organization, focused on developing the latest game features and engine enhancements in close collaboration with game and engine dev teams. You will be part of a team tackling a variety of technical challenges beginning from proof of concept to implementation for titles across EA. An essential priority for this group is to partner with the Frostbite team, our Game teams, and our central art team to create meaningful user facing experiences and innovative features.
Who do we work with? You will work with the Advance Technology Group (ATG) in our Vancouver studio in a hybrid remote/in-office work type.
About the Role: The Associate Quality Designer position will require you to provide oversight of our quality processes and establish best practices for our analyst family together with our leadership team. You will report to a Development Director.
🔑Your Responsibilities
Quality Strategy and Test Planning
Systematically test products and share results
Propose solutions for quality strategy
Advocate for a player-focused, high-quality experience
Quality and Data Analysis
Report high impact or complex bugs and provide relevant feedback to improve the quality of the game for players
Validate metrics at the product level.
Evaluate and adopt the latest and best practices from other teams, departments or the industry
Collaboration and Communication
Build partnerships/Collaborate with development, production, and design teams and other partners
Provide progress and status updates through reporting and verbal communication
Work with multiple teams to lead features through project milestones
Mentorship and Team Support
Mentor and support team members with QA deliverables
Support senior team members in the implementation of quality strategies
Promote improvements and knowledge sharing across teams
✅ Our Requirements
Experience and Knowledge
2+ years of experience in software development, quality assurance, or game design
Familiarity with bug prevention and containment strategies
Character Creation knowledge, with inclination towards playing video games for driving end-to-end quality plan throughout the game/pack cycle.
Skills and Abilities
Views difficult tasks as opportunities to learn rather than as threats
Automation and AI usage for testing strategies
Excellent collaboration and communication

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
