Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Audio Artist who can make an immediate contribution to the creative and technical design and implementation of all aspects of audio on the UFC Franchise. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate initiative, problem solving-abilities, and strong communication skills in order to achieve a high quality audio experience.
Audio Artists focused on UFC will contribute to SFX and Speech content and runtime systems, and engage in problem-solving throughout all stages of production. Working with the UFC Development team, this individual should possess exemplary skills in designing and implementing high quality assets as well as advanced asset management. The candidate should possess the ability to translate project requirements into functional, immersive, and dynamic runtime systems.
The candidate will communicate effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines while owning the quality of their work. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for game audio design and an aptitude for problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Build audio content and runtime systems with visual programming and scripting languages
- Design Sound Effects assets using common Digital Audio Workstations and Audio PlugIns
- Edit, Process, and Implement recorded Speech assets
- Optimize and debug runtime audio data to work and fit within modern console limitations
- Communicate designs, best practices and risks to your team and the greater EA community
- Collaborate with other Audio Artists and Workgroups to help drive Cross Team Initiatives
- Contributes to the creation of the audio creative design within and outside their audio specialty
- Documents workflows and pipelines, and make sure any relevant information in your day to day role is up to date
Qualifications
- Shipped at least 3 titles, with 5+ years experience in games
- Fluent with at least one visual programming tool and/or engine (Unreal, Unity, etc)
- Comfortable debugging workflows, pipelines, and runtime systems
- Experience in managing large quantities of content/data
- Creative mindset with focus on how to improve product quality and team productivity
- Understanding of digital audio, acoustics and/or psychoacoustics fundamentals
- Experience in content production pipelines such as audio/visual asset generation for games, movies, voiceover recording and post production
Nice to Have
- General knowledge of UFC/MMA
- Programming experience in C++ or C#
- Voice talent direction and script writing/editing
- Experience in text-based scripting/coding languages, with high proficiency in at least one language (ie Python, LUA)
*Prefer to find someone who is local to the Vancouver area and could join us in the Burnaby office 2-3 days per week, but will also consider remote applications if it’s the right fit.
Ceci ne s’applique pas au Québec. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
- $73,200 - $101,700 CAD
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
