Role Overview
Join EA's Create Audio team as an Audio Artist and immerse yourself in crafting world-class soundscapes for ambitious projects. Bring your passion for video games, technical expertise, and creative flair to our inclusive culture. Showcase your skills and contribute to the next season of Battlefield 6, working closely with the Motive team on World Audio.
As a World Audio Artist, you will help contribute to the game's overall sound quality, aesthetics and vision. You will work to design and integrate ambience quads, spots, destruction sounds, and much more. You will help give life to the environments our players immerse themselves in.
This is a temporary, full-time role, based in a dynamic, hybrid work environment at either our Montreal or Vancouver office locations.

Responsibilities:
Use a DAW to design, edit, name and organize sound files
Work within the FrostEd game editor to import, and organize and tweak audio assets
Set up visual scripting logic to trigger assets in the engine
Participate in location sound recording sessions: sound effects, Foley, ambience.
Test and quality control of in-game audio assets
Take direction from the Lead Audio Designer and World audio team, and work as a positive and productive member of the project
Requirements:
Two years' experience as an Audio Artist or Sound Designer working in the Games or Film industries
BA, Technical School Degree, or equivalent work experience in Sound Design or Recording Arts
In-depth knowledge of audio theory and sound design practices; includes knowledge of waveform editing, equalization, compression, mixing, or plug ins.
Proficiency with audio software such as Reaper, Nuendo, Pro Tools, Sound Forge, Vegas, Cubase, or Logic.
Proficiency with audio plug in software such as Waves, FabFilter, iZotope, or Soundtoys.
Experience with sound library use and management
Proficiency in authoring 5.1 surround sound mixes (background ambiences, world building sound effects)
Experience or knowledge of audio game development tools, such as Wwise, FMOD, Metasounds or other proprietary editors
Technical proficiency. Knowledge or experience with any visual scripting program is a plus (such as Reaktor, Max, Pure Data, UDK)

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
