Experience Designer II at EA SPORTS FC

The Role:

We at EA Sports have reached the next level of cohesion and craft by evolving into a modern Experience Design practice that brings UX and UI together, understanding that neither exists in a vacuum. The team is passionate and committed to developing an immersive player experience within FC. You will use your creativity, passion and knowledge of experience design, branding, and modern UI/UX practices to develop leading-edge experiences for highly engaged Football Club fans. You will work closely with the Game Design Director and your partners from the Experience Design Team, Engineering, Game Design, Production, Researchers, Art Direction and Creative Direction to create experiences that surprise, delight and inspire millions of players around the world to play. In this role, you will focus on high-quality execution, working within an established direction and collaborating closely with senior team members to bring concepts to life. Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in product, UI, or experience design, with strong execution skills and the ability to deliver high-quality work within established direction and guidance.

  • Strong understanding of core UX principles, including user flows, information hierarchy, interaction patterns, and player-centred thinking.

  • Proficiency in core design fundamentals, including layout, information organization, typography, and an understanding of user behaviours and patterns.

  • Experience creating well-crafted design solutions, including concepts, prototypes, content, and high-fidelity UI, with a focus on usability, clarity, and alignment with product and accessibility standards.

  • Experience working within a Design System and contributing to maintaining consistency across experiences.

  • Strong design judgment, with the ability to balance attention to detail and speed based on context and priorities.

  • Contributes positively to the team by being open to feedback and continuously improving the quality of their work.

  • Able to clearly communicate design decisions clearly and thoughtfully, while remaining open to feedback and iteration.

  • Applies a user-centred approach, considering player needs and behaviours when developing design solutions.

  • Reliable in delivering high-quality work and meeting commitments in a fast-paced environment.

  • Growth mindset, with a willingness to learn, adapt, and improve over time.

  • Comfortable collaborating with team members across disciplines with guidance from senior designers.


Responsibilities:

  • Create visual and interactive design solutions using the FC Design System, with ownership over defined features or areas.

  • Drive the design of player flows, interaction patterns, and UI experiences, ensuring clarity, usability, and cohesion across the experience.

  • Collaborate with Design System owners and team members to ensure consistency and quality across designs.

  • Work closely with Experience Designers, Game Designers, Producers, Researchers, Art Directors, and Engineers todrive feature development from concept to delivery

  • Contribute to usability-focused design thinking by considering player needs, behaviour patterns, and product goals in design solutions.

  • Present design work to peers and stakeholders, and incorporate feedback into iterations.

  • Actively participate in team discussions and contribute to improving design outcomes.

  • Share work, documentation, and learnings to support team collaboration.


Nice to have:

  • Motion design experience (After Effects)

  • AR, VR, or 3D design experience (Maya, Blender, C4D, KeyShot)

  • Experience working with UI in game engines (Unity, Unreal)

  • Understanding of game development pipelines and workflows

Pay Transparency - North America

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$104,500 - $142,800 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
 In Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
