Job Description

At EA, we strive to inspire the world to play. On Consumer Insights, we are looking for an associate researcher who will provide strategic, data-driven insights that guide development and marketing for all EA franchises.

Consumer Insights is constantly in pursuit of understanding our players - their motivations for playing games and how their behaviors change alongside the ever-changing gaming market. This role within CI will support consumer research for our studios, brands, and the games they create. You’ll partner closely with our studios, brand and marketing teams, as well as fellow researchers and analysts in North America and Europe. We are looking for a researcher who is curious and can provide critical insights that have a real impact on our games, live services, and communications. You will manage research studies, analyze data, and develop deliverables that influence important marketing and development decisions.

The role can be based in either our Redwood City or Los Angeles offices with the option to work locally on a hybrid work model.

We’re looking for all the best kinds of people to make great experiences for our team members and our players. The best people want a job that inspires them, while giving them room to enjoy their lives. And we want to give them that. We celebrate diversity and inclusion by creating a place where you can come to work and be yourself.

The CI Associate Researcher will work with...

  • Our Research Center of Excellence team - a close-knit team of 10 Consumer Insights researchers and analysts focused on delivering research for all of EA’s franchises.

  • Our Consumer Insights team - a team of 20+ insights professionals focused on improving our games throughout development, marketing, and live service.

  • Other members across Analytics and Research - we work together to develop a cross-functional ‘voice of the player’ that leverages other areas of expertise (e.g. data science, telemetry analytics, user experience, social listening).

  • EA’s studios and brand leadership - we partner closely with decision-makers and thought-leaders across development, marketing, publishing, and brand to inform strategies from greenlight to launch and throughout live services.

In a typical week, this person could be…

  • Analyzing data and building a story that guides product and marketing in their decision-making

  • Managing several research studies simultaneously; communicating with vendors, research partners, and internal stakeholders

  • Writing questionnaires and discussion guides that answer key business objectives

  • Supporting large custom research studies in partnership with other Consumer Insights team members

  • Presenting research reports to internal partners that influence decision making

  • Exploring new research tools that can create efficiencies or provide deeper insights

If you’re interested in this role, you’ll need these skills or experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience

  • 1-3 years of relevant job experience in a market research agency or company working in areas of consumer research

  • Experience in data processing and statistical analysis (such as developing crosstabs, weighting and appending data)

  • Experience using a market research survey platform (such as Qualtrics or Forsta)

  • Experience summarizing complex data into insights

  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research

  • Organized and adept at learning to work with a variety of tools and systems

  • Interested in learning more about video games
