The Apex Legends Integrated Communications team is looking for an experienced community manager to drive player-first initiatives as part of an 18-month assignment. The Community Manager will report to the Senior Manager for Global Core Community and sit in a small community team embedded with the developers on Apex Legends. You will be a part of a larger Integrated Communications team that includes community, socials, and earned. 

You will be contributing to the game’s multi-channel community strategy, helping to gather valuable insights for the development and business teams, and executing community strategies to build up and engage with our passionate players day-to-day. 

 Key Accountabilities

  • Fully immerse with the product to become a product expert that can provide context to internal team members AND understand player needs, acting as a point of contact for players and facilitating access to devs through programs and content
  • Own and execute on community initiatives that grow our core community, drive engagements, and align with the greater needs of game and business teams. This includes producing informative/entertaining content (blogs, podcasts, live streams, AMAs, etc.) that gives our community a further connection to our games, studios, and ecosystems
  • Strengthen overall player engagement and sentiment for the franchise through direct interaction on popular community platforms (Discord, Reddit, Twitch, etc.)
  • Engage with players professionally to obtain insights
  • Act as a public-facing spokesperson, communicating on behalf of the brand across multiple channels (Discord, Reddit, podcasts, videos, etc.) and at events
  • Manage live updates and issues with the community
  • Provide regular community updates to internal teams consisting of community sentiment (using listening tools like Affogata) and KPI reporting of community initiatives 
  • Synthesize and generate insights based on players’ behavior and knowledge of community; deliver strategic and data-informed insights to key stakeholders about the community including how to size and measure communities and sentiment
  • Collaborate with marketing, brand, creator, and comms teams across Respawn and the broader EA org to deliver the best possible experience for our players
  • Forge relationships with the territory leads to ensure execution of plans are globally optimized
  • Be able to work cohesively in a team that has remote members, alongside partners who are located globally and remotely
  • Uphold quality standards and brand communication best practices

Candidates should be:

  • Experienced: At least 4 years of community experience working in a game development studio. Must have experience writing and managing communications, interpreting and relaying player feedback, running community campaigns, etc, ideally on a AAA title. Experience on shooter/battle royale titles is a plus. 
  • A data-driven mindset: We need someone who can gather and look at data (both qualitative and quantitative) to forecast and grow the future of Apex Community. 
  • Growth-oriented: The ability to accept feedback and critique will help you tailor your work to reach its best potential—and to grow! Teamwork and a willingness to work, learn, and grow together is critical to our success.
  • Engagement focused: Speaking to players and driving initiatives that grow engagement within the community is vital to maintaining a healthy community.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $89,300 - $123,000 CAD

 In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
