Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Welcome to Maxis, home to tinkerers, craftspeople, & storytellers. Our drive is to inspire everyone to make a better world through creative play. As the developer of The Sims, we create games and experiences for millions of people around the world and are always looking for new ways to inspire our players. Maxis is a place where you can do what you love and help others grow while doing it; a place where your unique voice can be heard and seen. We put creativity and inclusivity at the core of our work and don't settle for seeing the world only as it is, but strive to build a world as it could be.

Building upon the success of our initial The Sims 4 Creator Kits, Maxis is looking for a Community Production Manager who will be the liaison between The Sims 4 development team and creators from the custom content community. In addition to experience as a community manager, you should have familiarity with or an active interest in game development. You will join a team focused on delivering creator-made content, and will oversee the launch of new Creator Kits as we scale this opportunity to more creators. This position is unique—while you will receive guidance, mentorship, and career development support from other senior community managers, you will be a member of the Maxis studio reporting to a Production Director on The Sims 4.

Location: This is a hybrid role based in Vancouver.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with custom content creators in The Sims

  • Uphold quality standards and brand communication best practices

  • Become a product expert that can equally provide context to internal team members and offer assistance to custom content creators

  • Contribute to conversations alongside the development team in discussion spaces with creators

  • Define creator engagement strategies, including channel ecosystem, that help inform dev team actions to build an active, invested, and healthy community of creators

  • Collaborate with colleagues across Development, Communications, and Player Support to ensure growth and continued successful execution of creator-made content

  • Generate insights based on behavior and feedback related to creator-made content

  • Administer contracts and ensure payments to creators

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with direct interactions with a player community

  • Prior experience working directly with a game development team

  • Familiarity with online communities focused on 3d asset creation and custom content

  • Proficient in communication with diverse, international audiences

  • Experience managing interactions diplomatically; experienced in conflict management

  • Comfort with ambiguity and highly adaptive in challenging environments with multiple clients

  • Strong planning, organizational, and task/project management abilities

  • Familiar with collaborating in a global environment

  • Direct knowledge of The Sims 4, custom content, and its community of creators is a plus!
