Our Motive is to develop innovative action games set in iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero. Let's say that again—iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero.
Our passion has taken us from imagining dogfighter pilots in Star Wars™: Squadrons to re-creating Isaac Clarke onboard the Ishimura in Dead Space™. Currently, we're working on two exciting projects, an original Iron Man™ action-adventure game and what's coming next for Battlefield™.
We believe in sharing our passion with our community and each other, fostering an inclusive culture, and nurturing a growth mindset. Although our approach may seem simple, it leads us to create the best work of our careers, bringing unique and immersive experiences to our players.
Motive is looking for an Audio Designer to work on the Battlefield Franchise.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with our game designers and gameplay engineers to bring prototype features to life, emphasizing comprehensibility and situational awareness for players.
- Become well versed in our engine’s audio tools pipeline and advise our engineering department on ways to improve its capabilities and efficiency for development on an ongoing basis.
- Recording source material in the field as needed, design original sounds across a diverse range of categories such as weapons, creatures, ambiences, and mechanical elements, helping to shape the sonic identity of our game’s broader universe.
- Some lightweight self-production: basic task breakdowns, estimates, and timekeeping.
- Model the culture and help build the team. Rotate through interview panels with all disciplines, onboard new hires, help tend to team health and culture in open team discussions.
- Promote and build an inclusive work environment.
- Work with all disciplines and contribute to topics at the project level. While everyone has an area of focus, building a great game and a great development experience is everyone's responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4 years experience in video game audio design.
- We prefer an online portfolio showing shipped work in an in-game context as it would be experienced by players. (In lieu of a traditional portfolio, a list of specific time-indexes with links to publicly available videos will also suffice.)
- You’re able to explain your audio design process and break down your creative philosophy in depth, citing specific examples from your past work to illustrate.
