Join the SPEAR (Secure Product Engineering & Anti-Cheat Response) Anti-Cheat Engineering team, part of EA Security. Our mission is to help EA's studios create secure code that powers amazing gaming experiences. You’ll help us identify and remove cheaters from our games and improve the data analytics pipeline.

We’re looking for a Data Analyst Intern to join our paid world-class paid internship experience this fall. The start date for this opportunity is September 2025 (3-month term).

You will be a member of the Anti-Cheat Engineering team for the Fall of 2025, reporting to the Director of Anti-Cheat Engineering. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Query data from the anti-cheat system to detect cheaters.

  • Implement bans on identified cheaters based on gathered data.

  • Analyze banned players and disputes to assess the false positive rate.

  • Conduct analysis on banned players and social data to evaluate the false negative rate.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of bans over time and assess their impact on player engagement and related metrics.

  • Learn to collaborate with team members and vendors to establish best practices in anti-cheat analysis.


Qualifications:

  • You must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis during the 12-week internship.

  • You must be graduating in May 2026 or later.

  • You are pursuing a degree in a quantitative or statistics-related field.

  • Basic coding skills in Python and familiar with SQL.

  • Familiarity with machine learning tools and data visualization platforms.

  • Interest in online gaming and game integrity challenges

  • Passionate about game security and keeping the ecosystem fair for all players.

  • Experience in looking for new knowledge, demonstrated by participation in workshops, courses, or relevant projects.

  • Excellent collaboration to work with engineers and team members.


US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

EA has listed the pay ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous  relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, degree type (e.g. Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD), what stage you are in your degree journey (i.e. freshman, sophomore, etc.), qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

HOURLY PAY RANGES

  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):

    • $24 - $29 USD Hourly

The pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.  We also offer a package of benefits including 80 hours per year of sick time (prorated based on scheduled hours per week if less than full-time), 16 paid company holidays per year, medical insurance, and 401(k).
