Data Engineer II – Data & Insights Team, ASIA

The Data Engineer II will report to the Head of Insights – Asia, responsible for Data-Insights & AI Plans in Asia. Join us in driving the next revolution in games.

Responsibilities:

• Design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that extract, transform, and load data into Snowflake.  Approach problems from different angles, analysing pros and cons of different solutions systems.  Use Python, SQL, and dbt for transformation logic.

•  You will Orchestrate and monitor data workflows using Snowflake Tasks, Airflow, and implement observability and automated data quality checks to catch issues early.

•   You will Write and improve SQL, DDL, and stored procedures within Snowflake, and create/maintain logical and physical data models for efficient storage, retrieval, and integration.

• You will manage data landing, archival, and retrieval across AWS S3, Apache Iceberg tables, and related cloud storage, and support cataloguing/lineage documentation (Confluence, Alation).

• Contribute to CI/CD and infrastructure workflows using GitLab CI/CD, Docker, YAML/JSON configs following version control and code review best practices.

•     Collaborate with Data Science and Analytics partners to expose reliable, well-modelled data for feature stores, vector databases, and model registries, and contribute to internal data.

•     Apply data-as-a-product and governance principles (tagging, masking, access policies) to the data assets you own, in partnership with partners.

•  Learn new tools including AI tools like Snowflake Cortex features, Pydantic-based RAGs, participate in technical discussions, and implement improvement ideas.

Qualifications:

•     3+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or a related role, with experience delivering reliable data pipelines.

•     Proficiency in Python and SQL for pipeline development, automation, and scripting; working knowledge of YAML/JSON.

•     Hands-on experience with Snowflake (or a comparable cloud data warehouse) DDL, performance tuning, dbt and an orchestration tool (Airflow, or Snowflake Tasks).

•     Solid grasp of data modelling fundamentals, data quality/testing practices and cloud storage ecosystems (AWS S3, Apache Iceberg).

•     Working knowledge of Git-based version control, CI/CD (GitLab CI/CD), and Docker

•     Exposure to MLOps/AI infrastructure concepts (model registries, feature stores, vector databases), data cataloguing/governance tools (e.g., Alation), and data mesh principles.

•     Experience working with AI tools like Claude, Copilot, and implementation in Snowflake Cortex features, Pydantic-based systems.

•     Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners, with the across teams.
