Description & Requirements
The Player & Quality Insights team focuses on analyzing player behaviour and organizing feedback events to help game teams develop high-quality games that meet player expectations. As a data-driven team, we rely on data analysis to identify opportunities and assess our efforts. As a Data Scientist, you will convert data into applicable insights that guide strategic decisions. Reporting to the Director of Player & Quality Insights Data, you will innovate new methodologies to understand our players and directly improve the quality of our games.
Your Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team members across multiple disciplines to find insights from data on game features, user behaviours, sentiment, and player engagement patterns to enhance game quality.
Analyze player data from large-scale sources using statistical models and automated reporting systems.
Design and refine metrics that inform game development decisions based on player behaviours and sentiment.
Identify patterns related to cultural trends and gameplay progression.
Translate statistical insights into business decisions.
Address analytical challenges independently and innovate new methodological approaches
Convert design questions into applicable data insights.
Create dashboards to provide visibility into player experience metrics.
Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in social or behavioural science, computer science, statistics or related fields, with 2+ years of equivalent experience.
Experience with SQL.
Proficiency in R, Python, or other statistical programming languages.
Experience with inferential statistics and modeling.
Expertise in storytelling with data for decision-makers.
Conceptual thinking skills to integrate player information for innovative measurement plans.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
