Become a foundational part of an ambitious, respectful and diverse team as we are looking for a Development Director responsible for driving collaborative game development strategy across multiple feature teams and delivering a successful game experience.
Making games is unpredictable, and we're all in it together. Development Directors are our drivers, listening and working with all our experts to find a way through. Development Directors determine the “how” for the team and are responsible for ensuring the team is focused on the priorities identified by leadership while maintaining continuous alignment during development.
As a Development Director focused on Special Projects you will work directly with the Director of Product Development and key senior leadership supporting them with their work. In this role you will tackle a wide range of projects working with the rest of the production team launching new initiatives, managing projects that have a limited duration or lack clear ownership and generally filling in the gaps for development as we work through the evolving needs of a complex game development cycle.
Responsibilities:
- With direction from the Director of Product development support the team in accomplishing, communicating the status of and demonstrating key milestone deliverables.
- Work with the team on assigned projects working between the team and key leadership to ensure that all parties are aligned with target goals and outcomes.
- May work with or for a variety of team leadership members on discipline specific Projects.
- Support the team with key milestone deliveries to help ensure that goals and expectations for all stakeholders and being met.
- Help identify and fill short term production leadership needs to support the changing needs of the project and assist the production team in accomplishing these milestones.
- Work with the entire development leadership to help coordinate, document and facilitate the standardization of development practices and reporting.
- You will also have a passion and empathy for solving people's problems and building happy, motivated teams.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years working with game development teams in a Development Director or Senior Production role.
- Experience managing diverse team across different time zones and locations
- The ability to talk across all levels of an organization
- Experience of agile project management processes
- Experience obtaining insights and developing strategies through analytical metrics-driven analysis and design experimentation.
- Experience using KPIs to set product success goals, monitoring of the product and informing necessary changes to the game.
- Team player that brings excitement and enthusiasm to work each day.
- Strong communication and writing skills, with experience preparing and presenting decks to various stakeholders.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES
- Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane)
- $125,300 - $198,100 USD
In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
