The Data & Insights (D&I) team harnesses the power of data to deliver transformative insights and solutions to EA game teams and players. D&I teams are involved in every aspect of data, driving strategy and governance; building powerful data and AI applications; and developing personalization, experimentation, and analytics tools. As the Director of Analytics for American Football, you will shape and drive analytics strategy and execution for one of EA's most iconic sports franchises. You will lead and coach an analytics team, raising the bar on insight quality and decision impact, experimentation rigor, and operational excellence. You will work with partners in product management, game development, finance, and marketing to inform decisions that shape the player experience and drive business performance.  

You will report to the VP of Data and Insights for EA SPORTS and be a key partner to franchise leadership.

Location: This role is hybrid three days a week onsite the Orlando studio.

What You'll Do

  • Coach and develop a team of analysts/data scientists; set clear expectations, provide feedback, and improve upon analytical rigor

  • Own the roadmap and prioritization for franchise analytics and experimentation, align stakeholders and manage tradeoffs

  • Establish and maintain analytics and experiment standards (metrics, design, readouts, documentation) to improve quality and speed

  • Lead analytics vision and team delivery for growth initiatives supporting player experience, product development, and business goals

  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders across Product and Game Development, bringing data-driven insight to critical decisions

  • Guide team analyses, leveraging SQL, experimentation, and statistical methods to inform live service decisions

  • Lead and sponsor personalization and machine learning initiatives and ensure they include measurement plans and A/B testing strategies

  • Evaluate and champion practical applications of generative AI and automation tools to increase productivity and elevate insight generation

  • Build strong connections between analytics and central data teams, ensuring best practices and tools are leveraged for impact

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field

  • 4+ years of experience leading and developing analytics teams, including coaching, feedback, and delivery accountability 

  • Experience working on live service games or similar digital products

  • Ability to build relationships and influence senior partners using data

  • Strong communication skills, including presenting analysis to non-technical teams

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with Python or R for statistical analysis to review and guide analytical work

  • Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests or other experiments

  • Familiarity with using GenAI tools to support analytics tasks

  • Interest in games and using data to improve player experiences
