Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Curious about how games come to life?

At the intersection of engineering and innovation, we create games that connect millions of players worldwide. If you’re driven to learn, collaborate, and make an impact, the EA SPORTS Academy is your opportunity to launch your career with one of the most iconic names in sports entertainment - EA SPORTS.

Join the 2026 EA SPORTS SE Academy, a unique, full-time program based in Vancouver, BC, designed to accelerate your growth as a Software Engineer. This is a permanent role at Electronic Arts, with your first year focused on guided learning, building relationships, and technical development through the Academy experience.

Your career with EA SPORTS starts with the EA SPORTS SE Academy.

In year 1, you will:

  • Start your career journey with a three-week immersive onboarding experience — with the first two weeks in-person at our vibrant Vancouver campus and the third week back at your local studio. During this time, you’ll engage in hands-on technical training, experience our studio culture, and build meaningful connections with your cohort, teammates, and mentors.

  • After the initial three weeks of onboarding, you will transition into an EA SPORTS development team as a permanent full-time Software Engineer. In this position, you will develop your skills through working directly with your development team and by participating in monthly, cohort-based SE Academy learning sessions covering a broad range of disciplines, including Systems, Gameplay, Animation, UI, Rendering, and more.

After Year 1:

The EA SPORTS SE Academy experience sets the foundation for your long-term career at EA SPORTS. After completing your first year, you’ll continue in your permanent role with your EA SPORTS development team, applying your skills to world-class games while staying connected through the EA SPORTS Academy alumni network and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Your first year with the EA SPORTS SE Academy is only the beginning of a career journey filled with growth, innovation, and endless possibilities. Get ready to unlock your technical potential by learning from our best-in-class domain experts and grow your career with EA SPORTS.

Must be available for a start date of May 28, 2026, for onsite orientation at our state-of-the-art EA Vancouver studio (located in suburban Burnaby) and be available to work onsite at EA Vancouver from June 1-12, 2026, before transitioning into a full-time hybrid position.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will participate in monthly learning modules throughout your first year as part of your EA SPORTS Academy cohort.

  • You will be embedded in an EA SPORTS Development Team and:

    • Collaborate with designers, content creators, and software engineers to deliver features for a cross-platform game.

    • Write clear and estimatable technical design specifications.

    • Use C/C++ to ship tested and high-quality technical implementations that meet design requirements.

    • Follow best practices to maximize game performance across multiple devices and platforms.

Your Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc in Computer Science, or equivalent training and professional experience.

  • Proficiency in C++ programming.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of good software engineering practices.

  • Strength working in a collaborative team environment.

  • Experience solving challenging engineering problems with creative technical solutions.

  • Willingness to participate in professional development activities to stay current on industry knowledge, principles, and solutions.

  • 1+ years of experience with another programming language(s) (C# or Java) and/or platforms (mobile, game consoles) is a major plus.
