Experience Designer II (UX) - EA SPORTS NHL

The EA Sports NHL team is seeking a collaborative, creative, and passionate Experience Designer II. As we continue to deliver to millions of players across multiple platforms, this role will be pivotal in ensuring our experiences are optimized and intuitive across diverse hardware capabilities for our players. In this role, you will advocate for players, transform complex needs into intuitive solutions, and elevate the quality of interactive experiences. We are looking for a UX professional with a strong portfolio and a commitment to delivering world-class features for millions of players.


Responsibilities

You will report to the Associate UX Director. We collaborate with all disciplines to create high-quality experiences that promote player engagement and strengthen the visual identity of EA SPORTS NHL and seasonal campaigns.

  • You will Design and refine player flows, wireframes, interaction patterns, and layouts that improve clarity, usability, and comprehension.

  • You will Guide the adaptation and translation standards of core gameplay, controls, and menu experiences to accommodate multi-platform, ensuring parity of experience and high-quality player engagement across all environments.

  • You will Contribute to team discussions, share documentation and insights, and help improve design quality, consistency, and collaboration across the team.

  • You will Conduct team member interviews and facilitate brainstorms or workshops under guidance.

  • You will Advocate for UX design excellence with the team at large, gathering feedback, and iterating on solutions that enhance usability, clarity, and emotional impact.

Requirements

  • 4+ Years of professional experience within video game development or an applicable similar industry.

  • 2+ years working with multi-platform development.

  • 3+ years of professional UX design experience using Figma.

  • Portfolio demonstrating impactful UX work, with clear examples of design process, design rationale, documentation, and outcomes.

  • Demonstrated experience designing for diverse input methods and variable performance profiles, with a focus on maintaining a cohesive user experience

  • Experience with UX and interaction design principles, including user flows, complex information hierarchy, wireframing, copywriting, prototyping, and player-centred thinking.

  • Experience with graphic design, layout, and gestalt principles.

  • Positive, collaborative mindset with a commitment to learning, improving craft quality, and contributing to stronger team outcomes.

Education

  • University degree (Bachelor's) in Experience Design, Human-Computer interaction, Psychology or equivalent professional experience.


Pay Transparency - North America

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES
* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$104,500 - $142,800 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.
 In Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
