Our award-winning Codemasters studio is looking for a Build Engineer to join the F1 team and Lead our Build group. You will help to re-invent and shape Codemasters’ boldest F1 racing title ever, from its creation to a genre-defining experience.

Reporting to a Technical Director, you will help define the why, what, how, and when—guiding the strategic direction and development of the technology that underpins automated testing, as well as the packaging and delivery of working builds to internal content teams, QA, and external partners such as Sony, Microsoft, and Steam for submission.

As a Line Manager, you will foster supportive relationships with your team—advocating for their growth and well-being.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with teams to understand workflows, deadlines, and deliverables.

  • Partner with IT to define hardware and infrastructure requirements.

  • Guide the architecture, implementation, and delivery of critical processes, with a focus on automation.

  • Evaluate technical designs and both software and hardware solutions.

  • Estimate work, assess risks, and developing mitigation strategies.

  • Plan and communicate system changes to both senior management and your team to minimize disruption and ensure clarity.

Skills

  • 4+ years experience in scripting and programming languages such as Python and C# (including WPF), with a focus on automating build, reporting, and deployment processes.

  • 3+ years experience with CI/CD pipelines, including setup, maintenance, and optimization of automated build and deployment workflows; including knowledge of Jenkins or similar.

  • Experience in source control management using Perforce, including repository setup, branching strategies, and integration workflows.

  • 4+ years experience as a Build Engineer in video game development, with understanding of asset creation workflows and end-to-end build and delivery pipelines for both console and PC platforms.

  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure across Linux and Windows environments, including experience with virtualization technologies and cloud-based processing solutions.
